Six practices, four countries, and a class built around the person in front of me.

I trained in India and have taught in Australia and Canada since: corporate groups, community classes, beginners who had never been on a mat, and students working around an injury. I'm now in Dubai, teaching privately, in hotels and in offices across the city.

Most weeks are a mix. A strong morning flow for one group, something slower and more supported for someone managing chronic pain or stress. I would rather adjust the class than ask you to adjust to it.

What I teach

Six practices, and I move between them depending on who is in the room.

New to yoga? Start with Hatha or Vinyasa. Coming back from an injury, or managing something ongoing? Start with a conversation instead.

Hatha

Held postures, steady breath. The most adaptable of the four, and the best place to start.

Ashtanga

Fast-paced and structured. A set sequence of poses linked to synchronised breathing, practised the same way each time.

Vinyasa

Movement linked to breath, sequenced fresh each class. Best for groups with mixed experience.

Pranayama

Breath work, taught on its own or woven into a class. The quickest route into the nervous system, and the part most people skip.

Meditation

Short, guided and practical. Built to survive a working week rather than a retreat.

Yoga therapy

One-to-one work for a specific condition or injury, built over a series of sessions. More below.

Yoga therapy

Yoga for chronic pain and stress

It starts with a conversation, not a sequence. What's going on, what your medical team has told you, and what you want to be able to do again. Then I build a practice you can hold onto, and adjust it as things change.

  • Chronic pain, worked at a pace that doesn't set you back
  • Stress and sleep, through breath work and slower sequencing
  • Fatigue, where the aim is energy management, not exertion
  • Mobility and posture, often alongside physiotherapy
  • Nutrition advice, built around how you eat rather than a diet plan
  • A short home practice you'll actually keep up

Yoga therapy supports medical care. It doesn't replace it. I work alongside your doctor or physiotherapist, never instead of them.

Where I teach

My space in JBR for one-to-one work, and hotels, offices and studios for groups. Mixed ability is the normal case, and I sequence so everyone has something to work on.

Private sessions

One-to-one or a pair, at my home studio in JBR. For working towards something specific, or for not learning in a crowd.

At my studio in JBR

Hotels & resorts

Guest classes on the terrace, by the pool or in the wellness suite. Mixed ability and mixed language, sequenced for exactly that.

Single classes or a regular slot

Corporate & groups

In the office, scaled so people can take part in work clothes. Desk tension, breath work, short resets a team will repeat.

Weekly, monthly or one-off wellness days

Her patience and ability to explain each posture and its benefits are remarkable.

I've had the pleasure of taking Shipra's classes for three years now. She's always attentive and adapts her classes to suit everyone's needs. I highly recommend her classes.
